First Christian Church, Muskegon, along with 4 other northside churches were featured in the Summer 2011 West Michigan Feeding America Food Bank newsletter for jointly sponsoring food distribution.

The article reports, "For 10 years, this multi-denominational group has jointly sponsored food distributions. They serve refreshments and often include other services, such as toy and clothing exchanges and social service sign-up assistance... The atmoshphere is fast-paced, overwhelmingly positive -- and often quite festive."

St. Joseph Riverview Park has exited the Fresh Start Program with the Region early because they have turned the corner and no longer need the assistance of the Region.  In a beautiful letter addressed to the Regional office, Riverview expressed their hopes that the money they would no longer need would go to assist other congregations.  That hope has already begun to be realized.
