New Church Recognized

Word Encounter Church has been received as an affiliating congregation under care in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) Michigan Region, by action of the Regional Board, January 16. Word Encounter Church is located in Detroit under the leadership of Pastor Stephen Perry.
Regional Board Action
The action came from the Commission on Church Growth and Vitality chairperson, Gwen Pettaway, and received unanimous approval. The church and pastor will continue to work with the Commission as well as the Commission on Ministry while under care with an anticipated full recognition at the spring Regional Assembly. The congregation was a new church start in the spring of 2018.
