Rev. Carol L. Devine, minister for Green Chalice ministries of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) will be the keynote preacher for the annual Michigan Disciples Regional Assembly, now set for August 8, 2020.
The Assembly was moved from May 2 due to the impact of the novel coronavirus pandemic requiring large gatherings to be canceled. First Christian Church, Lansing will host the day long event, beginning with registration and gathering at 9:30 am.
Theme: “All Creation is Sacred”
Scripture: Colossians 1:15-16
Guest presentations will be offered by the Christian Church Foundation, Poor People’s Campaign, and Green Chalice, with a closing worship and communion service.
Rev. Devine also serves as Communications Director for Lexington (KY) Theological Seminary where she is a Master of Divinity graduate. She also holds degrees from Transylvania College and University of Kentucky. She was a school teacher and pastor for 11 years “until God called me to make creation-care my primary focus,” said Devine. She is the mother of three young-adult children.
