“Fear is one of the obstacles to effecting and embracing change, often paralyzing the process to achieve needed change,” were the opening words of Regional pastor Eugene James’ report to the board lifting up significant changes that have taken place this year toward strengthening the ministry of the Michigan Disciples Church and its 42 partner congregations.

“We aren’t there yet but we are better off financially as of September 30; but we still have insufficient income for daily regional operations, ” reported Sarah Beth Simons, Stewardship and Finance Commission chair.

“Following a year of careful study, conferences and examination, the Crystal Commission brings to you the recommendation that we hire United Camps Conferences and Retreats to manage Crystal Conference Center over the next two years,” reported Russ Tiller, Crystal Commission chair.

The fall meeting of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Michigan Board of Directors received reports and took action on the business of the church during its meeting at the regional office in Lansing, Saturday, October 13. Included are reports from Commissions, 2019 Camp Crystal Dates and photos from Brenda Murphy's retirement reception.
