Recognizing and Overcoming Racism

Online Registration is now available for the October 12, 2013 seminar being offered to inform us on strategies for recognizing and overcoming racism. It will take place at First Christian Church, Lansing from 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM.

This Seminar on Anti-Racism is sponsored by the Committee on Reconciliation and the Commission on Church Growth and Vitality of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) Michigan Region.

Presenters are the Rev. Yvonne Gilmore, Pastor of New Song Community Church and staff chaplain at Mount Carmel West Hospital in Columbus, Ohio; and Rev. Dr. Chris Hobgood, formerly General Minister and President of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), and a former regional minister (17 years) and congregation pastor (25 years).

To maintain standing, clergy in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) Michigan Region are required by the Regional Commission on Ministry to attend a seminar on this topic at least once every five years. Please contact the Regional Office at 517-372-3220 if you have questions.
