Thanksgiving Special-Day Offering supports Colleges & Seminaries

The Thanksgiving Offering benefits the Colleges, Universities, Seminaries, and Divinity Houses affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Higher education has been an important focus for Disciples since the very beginning of the movement.

Throughout our history, Disciples have founded institutions of higher learning to educate students and form leaders to make a difference in the world. The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) is still committed to higher education. Your gift to the Thanksgiving Offering helps support the education of thousands of students at our fifteen colleges and universities as well as our seven seminaries and divinity houses.

Watch for Christmas Special-Day Offering Resources

“When they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy” (Matthew 2:10). REJOICE is the theme of our Christmas special day offering this year that provides direct support to the many ministries of the Michigan Region.

Watch for a packet to be sent to your church by the end of November from the regional office. It includes offering envelopes as well as bulletin cover and bulletin insert for duplication. This mailing takes the place of past standing orders sent to churches by the Disciples Mission Fund. They no longer are distributing print resources, providing them online instead.

Electronic versions of these resources plus graphics and a short Christmas Rejoice video are available now on our website – Click Here.

Your church or individuals has two ways to submit your Christmas Offering.

  1. Send a check marked “Christmas Offering” to the Michigan Disciples Regional Office, 2820 Covington Ct., Lansing MI 45912
  2. Donate/submit it online at midisciples.org/christmasgift.
