Preparation: How Christmas Offering Supports Your Ministry

By December 11, 2014No Comments

Dear Sisters and Brothers,

Again, we enter the Advent Season filled with anticipation, preparing to join with family and friends in celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Alleluia! This also is the time set for us to give to the Christmas Offering, which has been designated to support the ministry of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) Michigan Region.

Beverly Peeler, Administrative Assistant; Mike Lipsey, Bookkeeper, and I are honored to serve you as we all work together in fulfilling the mission and ministry of being Christ’s presence in the Michigan Region.

The Region is blessed by the faithful work of many committed volunteers: the Regional Elders who are a vital presence among the congregations; those who serve on the various commissions; the Wednesday Guys of First Christian Church – Lansing; the Benzie Boys – those who give of their time to assist in opening, maintaining, and closing Camp Crystal; and others who give time at the Regional office and events of the Region. We thank God for all of you.

Your gift to the Christmas Offering helps to sustain the work of the volunteers and the staff in providing support and assistance to clergy and congregations. Thank you in advance for your generous gift. “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

The 2014 Christmas Offering will be received in Michigan Disciples churches on December 14 and 21.
