The “We Are Family” campaign for First Christian Church, Battle Creek has been an inspiring success. More than $17,000.00 has been given so far to assist the congregation in recovering from the embezzlement of all the money in their bank account.
Gifts were received from ten congregations and twenty-four individuals or families, including two who are not members of a Disciples congregation. We give thanks and praise to God for the generosity of those who responded, tangibly demonstrating love and concern in a time of dire need.
This is a wonderful example of the Regional Church working together to ease the burden of a member of our broader faith community. Michigan Disciples let their lights shine to the glory of God. Thank you.
